Kenya Eastern Trail 4 Days 3 Nights – Tour Code ASKL05

kenya eastern tour

For those with little time and keen interest in nature, landscape and culture, this itinerary takes you to the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro before entering the extensive game-filled paradise of Tsavo West.

Day 1 – Nairobi Amboseli
Leave Nairobi after breakfast at your Hotel. This drive takes you through the Athi and Kapiti Plains past the Kenya Tanzania boarder town of Namanga. Arrive in Amboseli in time for lunch and thereafter, enjoy an afternoon game drive of this park famous for its great herds of Elephant that graze on the swampy areas of the park during the day before retiring to the Mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro slopes in the evening. Your lodge right at the foot of Majestic Mt Kilimanjaro gives a wonderful view particularly in the evening and morning when the peaks are clear and you can enjoy these views from the comfort of your room! Dinner and overnight at a Lodge

Day 2 – Amboseli National Park
A full day in Amboseli with game drives (2 game drives, each of approx. 3 hrs), all meals and overnight as above.

Amboseli National Park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at 5,896 meters, is the highest free-standing mountain in the world and topped by one fifth of all the ice in Africa. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of elephant accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous beasts - lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest to name but a few. There are also over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa.

Day 3 – Tsavo West National Park
Continuing South, we head into famed Tsavo Territory. This is one of the largest parks in the continent, where some of the most magnificent natural views will unfold. Arrive in time for lunch followed by the early afternoon at leisure. In the late afternoon, we head to Mzima Springs, where jungle like vegetation surrounds the crystal springs that pump out millions of gallons of clear cool water …the source of Mombasa's drinking water!. Hippo and crocs abound – enjoy viewing through a glassy observation point inside the pools, and the cool banks that are a favorite point for countless baboons and monkeys. We leave the tour vans here and in the company of trained and experienced rangers we take a walk under the acacia umbrella shaped cover. On the way back to the lodge an African sunset will possibly set the mood for a real ''Sundowner'' before dinner. Dinner and overnight at a lodge

Day 4 - Nairobi
An early morning game drive in the Tsavo West National Park is followed by breakfast and thereafter, return to Nairobi to arrive by lunch time.
